As we’ve seen in the past few months, Miley Cyrus has become one of the most controversial stars of the year, from twerking her way through one video, to riding naked on a wrecking ball in another.
But why the sudden change, Miley used to be one of many Disney stars who gave inspiration to many youngsters with her catchy songs from Hannah Montana. From the same Disney era as Selena Gomez, she is now following a path paved by stars such as Lindsey Lohan and Amanda Bynes who equally were both former child Disney stars.
Has the success at such a young age enveloped them to become unrecognizable or has the downside of the industry encapsulated them and turned them into people we could never have imagined.
It’s a shame that the path Miley has taken has turned into a controversial “star” and the fame and attention she is getting from this type of behavior won’t help her return to the mature and level headed adult she was seeming to become.
Could this be Miley’s last stand, and can she ever recover from the absurd things she’s been doing lately. The MTV VMA award performance was one of the latest in nonredeemable actions made by Miley. But my ultimate question is, who is behind the wheel, after all, these things are choreographed, does she have a say in what she’s doing? Or is it a question of do it or get dropped?
Whilst these actions are bringing her the success she craves, she is ultimately turning into a person who won’t be respected as she grows and her longevity is questionable.
Can we ever have the “old Miley” back? Or is it too late for yet another child star?
